Michael Stuart is a practicing T/IRT Level III Thermographer (certified in compliance with ASNT standards) and has significant experience in the use of thermography for Electrical, Mechanical, and Building inspection applications and analysis. He has held several roles at Fluke Corporation including: Sr. Product Manager for Thermal Imaging Products, Sr. Manager of Thermography Services, and Sr. Product Manager for Electrical Products. He conducts training for customers and Fluke personnel in the fundamentals of thermal imaging for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, building inspection, weatherization, and energy auditing. He has actively taught various subjects related to Electrical Test & Measurement and Predictive Maintenance at NTI many times in the last sixteen years and has presented hands-on courses for various regional training events sponsored by the NJATC, IUOE, and others. Michael also works closely with WSU Extension Energy Program, US Department of Energy Building America Program and other professionals worldwide to promote and explore the ways in which technology can help create better methods and practices for the advancement of building science and commercial/industrial energy efficiency. He is an active member of the following professional organizations: ASNT, ASTM, RESNET, IDSA, SPIE, ASA, and has held committee and subcommittee positions in many. Michael has written many articles and whitepapers over the years and has authored two short books with the industrial maintenance practitioner in mind: Insulation Resistance Testing, and Introduction to Thermography Principles (American Technical Publishers, Chicago, IL). Since early 2017, as Sr. Manager of Technology and Product Development, he has worked with customers to explore new technologies and methods for solving critical and high-value problems that they face. Most recently, he served as the technology evangelist, program manager, and application specialist for Fluke’s new acoustic industrial imaging technology which has resulted in the development of the Fluke ii900, and continues support and development of new applications for that technology.
